The warlock preraid BIS

#1 » Post by .landgin » 13 Jul 2015 16:09

Well I suppose since there isn't one, I will write one. All subject to change when/if Bloodvine and d2 are released. This is for the sm/ruin spec. I'm currently running 32/0/19. Will get into that later.

Helm: http://www.primalwow.org/armory/item.php?item=22267

Spellweaver's Turbine

9int
36 sp
8 hit rating

The best until Mish or t2.5. Plus makes you look fancy.

Alt: Eye of flame http://www.primalwow.org/armory/item.php?item=3075
Circle of flame (take this if it drops, fun and great for mana intensive fights.)http://www.primalwow.org/armory/item.php?item=11808

Neck: http://www.primalwow.org/armory/item.php?item=22403
8stm
8 int
9sp
8 hit raiting

The pearl necklace...made of real pearls. It's great, you'll use it for along time. Choker off Rag is the best you will do for well into aq.

Alts: Darkmoon, scholo or ud strat necks, but none really compete with the hit rating from the pearl.
http://www.primalwow.org/armory/item.php?item=19426

Shoulder:

Few options here. I'm using a shadow wrath with +26, but it should go to +30. Theres also the sunseer. Wouldnt be mad if you took mantle of hope either.

Cloak: http://www.primalwow.org/armory/item.php?item=18510
10 int
8 stm
22sp

Easily the best preraid. Even better with easier mats to farm.

Alts: Mageflame http://www.primalwow.org/armory/item.php?item=13007
Amplifying Cloak http://www.primalwow.org/armory/item.php?item=18350

Chest: http://www.primalwow.org/armory/item.php?item=14152

12 Int
40sp
14 crit rating
on use: mana

hands down the best chest until bloodvine, you'll still want to use it on mana intensive fights. its worth about 8/mp5. Dont bother with Robes of the void, far to expensive with essences of fire AND felcloth.

Alts: +40 of shadow wrath
Flarecore if your rich. Good fr if nothing else. http://www.primalwow.org/armory/item.php?item=19156

Bracer: + of shadow wrath

Another place shadow wrath shines.

Alts:

Felcrap http://www.primalwow.org/armory/item.php?item=16804
dm bracers

Gloves: ST +shadow wrath/ desert bloom

http://www.primalwow.org/armory/item.php?item=20717

The ST gloves are pretty rare. But the desert bloom are very easy to get.

Belt: http://www.primalwow.org/armory/item.php?item=11662

10 stm
11int
8 hit rating
12 dmg

This is easily the best. Nothing else will do until T2.

Pants: http://www.primalwow.org/armory/item.php?item=19165

21 stm
43dmg

If you can score the core run with theses.

Alts: http://www.primalwow.org/armory/item.php?item=13170 skyshroud from lbrs
http://www.primalwow.org/armory/item.php?item=18386 If your healer doesnt take them, pick them up.

Boots: http://www.primalwow.org/armory/item.php?item=18735
Maleki's Footwraps

9stm
9int
22sp

If you can get in on azzy and they let you roll on the boots http://www.primalwow.org/armory/item.php?item=19131 are great.
Plenty of options, theres a pair of boots with hit and no sp (Kayser's Boots of Precision), a few boots with a adjustment in stats, try and pick up the ubrs boots for fr down the road.

Rings: http://www.primalwow.org/armory/item.php?item=13001 http://www.primalwow.org/armory/item.php?item=22433

Maid's

6spir
7 int
18 sp

Easy enough to get two of theses. Try and snag a don from scholo if you can,

5 stm
14 crit rating
11sp

trinkets: http://www.primalwow.org/armory/item.php?item=12930 http://www.primalwow.org/armory/item.php?item=45631

Fleshlight is great, you'll use this for a long time. Reed or timbermaw quest for the second should do the trick.

Weapons:http://www.primalwow.org/armory/item.php?item=20536
16 stm

20 sp
8 hit rating

Soul Harvester shines here.

Alt: Rod from dm (even better if your deep into destro) http://www.primalwow.org/armory/item.php?item=18534

Wand: +shadow wrath if you can find it, if not http://www.primalwow.org/armory/item.php?item=12605 will do just fine.

I left it out because its such a rare drop. And I think that build is best with healer debuff.

I'm suprised you actually need heals with Syphon Life. Even as fresh 60 and vs 1 target it should restore around 170-190hp per tick. And your shadow bolt cast should be a bit over 200 mana. Most of time if you don't pay attention you will end up overhealing yourself.

Sure he can drain life but the more time spent hitting his big spells the better. Combine this with the healing debuff effecting your healers, + fights possibly with AoE damage "tapping + siphon" can be risky. I personally like the build and think it's a good foundation to work on until gear gets better.

Will be using this on my soon to be 60 (soon tm) warlock.

I'm pretty sure you don't know difference betwen drain life and syphon life

Please let me explain this to you,

Image

Passive effect you can find it in tier 20 of affliction tree

and...

Image
Channeling spell you learn from trainer..

Ok now we learned new spells, let's go to the next step.

Siphon Life is passive not channeling effect that heals you every time your "Corruption" does damage, and since you're Warlock and you're not affected with healer debuff it heals you for full amount. Last MC raid for example I was getting +200 heal for every corruption tick. Why is this important, with life tap you can transfer your life to mana with at least 1:1 ratio and for example your Shadow Bolt is just a bit above 200 mana per cast. Not to mention that Corruption is so nicely buffed in wotlk, also don't forget Nightfall proc, you will always want to have it up all the time, on as many targets as possible (more targets=more heals=more nighfall proc=more dps), With this and some consumables you shouldn't have any mana issues ever, therefore Dark Pact is not worth sacrificing 5% crit you can get from devastation.

Thank you.

Can't argue with Mr. Condescending 50g himself I guess. When you criticize somebody's talents setup you generally tell them why instead of going "I lol'd at your spec". Pretty BM right there.

But yes I do know the difference, notice how I said taking the time to and also mentioning riskiness rather than time for the other combination.
