I thought of that too, specially the boxes. But it should differentiate significantly once artwork is added and colours are changed.

yes exactly. Your pic is a nice draft, the right boxes will need a rework, but overall color, transparent boxes, and fading rows look good

I don't know about the fade-gradient bars, though. They don't look good with CSS3, at least from what i've tried.

Anyway, when is the deadline?

In css they can look exactly as on the picture

There's no fixed deadline but we'd like to pick a final design within a week

Forgot to mention: make sure to test how a massive wall of text will look (green, yellow, red, orange texts at least :))
p.s. as a reference to what i mean http://www.gamingconsortium.org/forum/v ... =13&t=7716

I think it's perfect the way it is now.
It's a bit unrealistic to expect that Blizzard will sue because of a few logos, they probably couldn't anyway even if they tried.

However, if you're going with a new design I hope you keep it clean and simple.

Please keep it like it is now. The forums looks nice like it is now. Maybe minor changes can be done but background and some other stuff looks really nice at this moment.

Could something like this be done?

Once upon a time there was a horrible design here. Not anymore, though.

Like a slideshow for important anouncements, important fixes, polls, contests like this one. Things that everyone should be aware of and that are recent.

I'm sorry if i'm getting too ahead of myself =/. I have too many ideas on hold.

There is no point in showing latest news as a slideshow while you are browsing forums for example, while you cant really have news section with a slideshow of news :D I just cant see how it will work. However you may make something to be shown like this while you are not logged in instead of the normal news page - highlights for newcomers.

Also i prefer having all buttons lower like on GC and not top, as it makes life so much easier to navigate, and as staff you will use them A LOT (i think general plan is to move all navigation from http://www.truewow.org/ left side panel into such buttons).

Of course it can be done. Go haywire with your ideas, u'll be still far away off from what some of my clients and managers ask me to do...

I like that, mby could be a bit bigger in height

Doesn't matter that much where they are. The menu can even be on right side in one of those boxes. Even though it'd be better for forum to utilize whole width of the page as ppl tend to post big pictures and it's probably clearer that way too.
