Hello, as the title says I'm having a hard time updating my WoW client. At 99% the following error comes up:

" The patch "enGB\DBFilesClient\Item.dbc" could not be applied. (Invalid source file size: expected 1475061, actual 1284532.) If this problem persists, you may be able to solve it by uninstalling and then reinstalling the game. If you are unable to correct this problem, please contact Blizzard Technical Support. (BNUpdate::PTCApply)."

I tried to delete Cache, WTF and Interface folders but it didn't work. What else can I do?

If u are trying to update via launcher it will need a repair
If manualy check if u ahave enUS or enGB (as stated above) OR the 3.3.3 or the 3.3.3a these are the common mistales.

Had this problem too, so possible solutions are:

1.) reinstal game

or

2.) redownload patch

or

3.) Look if you have same version enUS or enGB as your wow version- most common problem if you manualy download patches.

or

4.) start wow with curent version, restart computer, then try installing again ( its a bug with game registers )

or

5.) copy your wow folder into another folder, deleted old one and put the patch in the new wow folder- works sometimes.

or

6.) if you have all patches in 1 folder move the other elsewhere ( sometimes the patchers open the one you selected but reads it as it was another one )

My WoW client is enGB and my patches are also enGB. I'll try what Silvo said, point 4,5 and 6. I'll post the results later.

And Okwel, your post is pointless, thanks for trying to look smart instead of helping. Next time keep your ignorant replies for someone else.

Thanks for all replies.

I'm not retarded....I know reinstalling the game would solve the problem, it's pretty obvious from the error line. I thought you guys might know an easier way to solve it.

I tried everything Silvo said, none of them worked, I'm downloading the game again. Thanks anyways.

Your manually patching from downloaded patch files? Hmm I think iposted this somewhere else. Try right clicking the update file, and click run as administrator...

Damn, that's a really good idea, too bad I have deleted it. I tried to download a new wow client from pirates bay but it had some spywares...it nearly ruined my windows. I'm downloading it again atm, thanks for all your help, it should work now!
